Rail & bus info

This section of the website has a separate page for Waterford city, Carrick-on-Suir, Clonmel, Cahir, Tipperary and Limerick Junction giving rail and bus information for each location. The information on each page includes:

Railway station information: details of their proximity to the town/city, station facilities and bus links.

Fare information: a selection of fares for local journeys and to key centres such as Dublin and Cork (the fare information may be printed for personal use).

Bicycle information: information about bringing a bicycle by train.

All-in sea & rail fares: information about sea & rail tickets to Britain (the sea & rail information may be printed for personal use).

There is also a page about travelling between South Tipperary and Dublin (and vice versa) and a page showing examples of tickets.

Click on the logo to visit the Transport for Ireland website which has useful information about using public transport throughout Ireland.
It also features a Journey Planner encompassing all modes of public transport.

For planning journeys from Ireland to Wales/ England/ Scotland (& vice versa) and within Wales/ England/ Scotland the National Rail Enquiries website has a Journey Planner. The site also features live train info plus details of station & onboard facilities.

European Railway Atlas: an useful atlas of the European railway network. Extract atlases on a country by country basis are also available and may be purchased in both electronic and hard copy format.

Excellent first-hand information about travelling by train and ship throughout the World is available on The Man in Seat Sixty-One website.
